It seems like they based the awards based on game sales. That's the only way I can see Tekken winning over VF4.

Well, a reason it may not have won is because of the negative messages, in which the media repeatedly points out. I'm sure the news would have had lots of fun with Video games being the root of all evil if what they constantly bashed was Game of the Year. At least that's a reason I see it, then again maybe they didn't base it on sales/hype at all *Shrug*.Quote:

Incorrect. :pQuote:
Can't say I know anything about, but it is by EA so I'm going to have to say no way it can be best. But then again I may be incorrect.
Battlefield 1942 kicks ass, and certainly deserves the award. I'd say that EA has nothing to do with it.
BF1942 is really fun. Don't hate if you haven't played it. :bang:
I never said I hated it, I just said I wouldn't be able to say whether or not it's worthy.
That's not what you said at all. You said:

yeah, and it got excellent ratings from just about every publication in the industry, too, and sold about 2 million copies on PS2 alone.Quote:

what, IYO, should have won the sports award?
IMO the biggest problem with the AIAS awards (not the broadcast, cos i didn't see it) is that animal crossing won RPG of the year with FFX in the category.
Tommy Tallarico does know what he is talking about...even though he has bad taste at times, he has a respectable knowledge of gaming...Quote:

I loved the other presenter's reaction to the chick in the red dress.
*looks at her for a second* "Damn!" *looks her over again and starts clapping*
The Tommy Tallarico thing was a joke.
Never played Battlefield 1942 so I can't say if it's GotY or not.
Final Fantasy 10 shouldn't have been nominated because it didn't come out in 2002(let's not get started on this again)
Animal Crossing is fun and innovative it deserves the praise it gets.
Why have a Sports award if you are going to give it to the same (and boy do I mean same) game every year.
I will not go off on why I hate EA cause that could take all day.
The chick in the red dresss is still hot and yes that guy with her was funny.
