my guess would be that you wont see a console release in the US (other than the AES) till the end of next year or early 2005

I'm waiting on the JPS2 release, but I'm not expecting it any time soon. They got to pimp the neo-geo one last time before giving it up.
Played it at my mall today...
Ok first off, I still don't get you asshats that said "Dude, it might look slow, but if you play it, it's fast!". I press right, and my guy moves right. WTF were you expecting, lag? It's just as slow as it looks. That doesn't make it abd game though, just a slow one. However, having watched it (and played it) for quite a bit longer than I did last time, I don't think it's as slow as I used to. I'd say it's like 2 stars faster than I originally thought. It's not as fast as CvS2, but it's not as slow as I made it out to be.
I used these characters:
Mars People - WTF? I did a special, and a UFO flew by. Didn't seem to do anything though. I guess he reminds me of a Darkstalker or something. What game is he from?
Goenitz - Again, I'm not sure where he's from, but he seemed very boss-like. The only moves I could figure out with him were a bunch of firewall moves, and move that made me briefly disappear. I'm sure he's a good character, but I had no idea what to do with him.
Zero - Seemed cool, but I didn't have a fucking clue what to do with him, and I was getting Ryued to death the whole time by my opponent
Vega - In CvS2 I play Vega by CONSTANTLY hopping oof of the wall. In SvC, and this might be the fault of the joystick, I just can't play him as fast and furious as I need to. I could only get my wall jump to work like, 40% of the time. And he didn't appear to have any new moves, but it's not like I'd know what to try anyway.
Nasty Ken - Uh, it's Ken. But, his uppercut goes farther, or something.
M. Bison - Well, again, doesn't seem like he was anything new. And, the psycho crusher only hits once on a block (harder to do tick damage) and the special effects on his super and regular psycho crushers look like ass. A big step backward from CvS2.
Chun LI - Her fireball goes full screen on HP and it's like, not a fireball on LP. And, I have no idea how spinning bird kick can be considered a useful move, not to mention it only worked about 9% of the times I tried it, but again, that might be because of the joysticks at the arcade.
The presentation is ass. In CvS2, when you hit someone with the final blow, you know it. Hell, even in the original SFII when you landed the final blow, your opponent let out a death scream, and everything went in slow motion. In SvC, you fall down just like normal, and if there's a death scream it's not terribly louder than any other noise you make, and you lay there for a second, and then it says KO. I never saw anyone win with a special, so I don't know if there are any special effects for that. Or, maybe I did, and since there is no special effect I just didn't notice it. And of course, the graphics are crap, but it's Neo Geo, so I expected that.
There is a super move that can only be used once per oppenent, and I don't know if it needs a super meter to use or not, but you can do it after losing half of your life. Also, throwing is performed by pressing 2 buttons at once, which I don't really like, but I guess it's no big deal. You can do tech rolls, and you can dash forward. Are there any new systems that I don't know about? Oh yeah, you can do like, and alpha counter or something, I think.
Also, I'd like to experiment more with the new stuff (Zero for instance) but EVERYONE else insists on picking Ryu or Akuma (with the occassional Iori thrown in) that I just get jumpkicked fireballed and uppercutted to death whenever I try to change things up. I hate that. How is that even fun? You chumps have been doing that for like, 13 years, try something new!
I am not so sure I'll buy the home versions now, unless they are online. And I think any of you guys that are gonna buy the arcade version are insane, but whatever.

P.S. I picked Akuma, and Iori. Nyaa!
Hey, I tend to just use Vega and jump off of the wall all day, but I do devolve to Bison sometimes.
Hey, I never said I can play these games! :)
I used Earthquake, Dimitri, and Genjuro. Dimitri is god, plain and simple, he's quick and chains are fun. Only gripe: He sounds like a GIRL. Earthquake was by accident, but he was fun to use.
Here's everyone's monster and animal form. Sorry about the size, though.
Chux - I'm glad that Demitri doesn't look short anymore. He looks more like that lanky, muscular 7-foot tall bat creature from his Darkstalkers endings.
EDIT - one other question for Hugo fans. I know in SF3, he's about roughly 8 ft. tall. Any word on his height/specs for SvC, seeing as he seems to have grown by a foot or so, and seemingly about 100 lbs extra of muscle?
Yeah, I hear that. I pulled off Midnight Bliss 2 times, but I have no idea how I did it. I'm thinking double half circle forward and 2 punches but I could be wrong, because sometimes it shot out his super fireball.
