Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Comes Home

Yes, Ubi Soft has announced plans to bring home 2000's hit Hong Kong action flick, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The game is being developed by the guys at Genki (Tokyo Xtreme Racer, Jade Cocoon), and will apparently follow the movie as closely as possible, from the story and characters, to meticulously recreating each of the movie's most famous scenes. The combat will also be taking a page straight out of the movie, letting players have at it using all of the gravity defying acrobatics that made it one of the biggest sleeper hits in recent times. The game is currently scheduled for release on the PlayStation 2 and GameBoy Advance, but for now enjoy these screens from the PS2 version while you wait for the game's August release.

Hmm... I remember their logo, but I can't remember what I've seen it attached to. What have they made?

Aside from being stupid, I also enjoy long walks on the beath and playing love songs on my guitar.

I could swear I've seen their logo on something besides TXR (I definately don't remember it from the little I played of Jade Cocoon), but whatever.

For some of their less noteable --though likely more noteable to TNL guys ;)-- games, they've also done Phantom Crash for the Xbox, and had a hand in Virtua Fighter 3tb as well.

well, TXR's a hell of a game, but i'm not so sure about their other credentials..
best of luck to them regarding this one though.

Bingo! That's why I know it from recent times!

CTHD is one of my favorite movies. Normally I would cringe at movie-game ports but I think there's potential here.

I would have been excited three years ago, now I don't care.
