Nice thread as always.
My personal faves are the Quest for Glory series.
The additional rpg-lite elements and the combat really put it over the edge for me.
I still catch myself humming the theme song to Quest for Glory every once in a while... :)

ahh quest for glory. I also loved how your charecter could go from one to the next. Had to build a thief that had all abilities, and play night and day till you had a perfect little thief through each game. beautiful.
I went to Best Buy today to price Syberia ($29.99), and sitting right there next to it is Post Mortem (also $29.99).
Anybody hear anything about that one? I'll probably buy both to support the genre.
Both are made by Microid. Didn't they make that egyptian themed adventure game I heard about?
I hear syberia is good. I'm interested in Tony Tough. Any impressions?
I played the Post Mortem demo a few months back. It seems pretty good and has a unique branching path kind of design.
I'm willing to bet EB has Post Mortem for cheaper than $30 since it sells for $30 Canadian up here. The game also came out here a few months before the American release. I'm not sure why. Microids is Canadian but games rarely have different release dates across the border.
Hey. What would you guys consider the Sega Genesis Beavis & Butthead game? It feeled a lot like an adventure game to me.
Thoughts?
PS: I enjoyed it quite a bit back in the day, I wonder if its still any good...
I haven't played it but Beavis and Butthead in Virtual Stupidity is a good adventure game. It's on PC and by a different developer though.
Hey! I found a neat interview. Check it out!

I loved Infocom, I hated Segasoft even though - I did find myself enjoying Space Bar somewhat. Obsidian was "weaksauce".
Virtual Stupidity is one of my favorite graphic adventures ever.
