Yea, I knew about the different progress and overdrive node tricks and the satellite stuff... But the way you talked about locking onto the guys in Layer 1 was new to me... I always end up with 6080 after that Layer....
Still gotta get those scores....

Ok, Area 1 has been giving me some trouble the past couple of days... [That always happens with every game when I try too hard.]
Here is my Area 1 score breakdown:

I sacrificed a few thousand points during the layers in order to insure that I didn't miss any guys. [Yet I still missed one; no idea where.] I swear that everytime I got 150,000+ previously, I missed a guy or two somewhere along the line and ended up with the useless Giga form of the end boss. Completely aggravating.
I can't say I like the whole boss milking deal, however. Way too tedious for my liking. Bleh. I doubt I'll want to try and milk this level much further.
Got a new LOST AREA score as well:

Some of my worst percentages on that Area, oddly enough. I seem to be stuck in the upper 280,000+ area. I guess I'll break 300K eventually... Good thing this Area is damned entertaining to replay over and over.
I'll put some more layer scores when I have time to play the game. Lost Area is looking quite nice and it seems that you are improving all the time. I think that the scoring skills improve after every played Area and it's important at first to just play one Area over and over again. To achieve really high scores you have to memorize all the enemies and patterns for them and of course you have to master the controls. Many people think that this game has simple controls and it does if you just want to beat the game and quit there. There's a huge difference in controlling skills between player who gets 220,000 from Area 1 and the other one who gets +270,000. The hardest patterns in high scoring runs are just so extremely difficult to perform that there's no way someone could do them right with luck. I know because I've also started from the bottom and I remember that I used to do a lot of mistakes at the beginning but after a month or something I just quit doing mistakes and at the time that was a bit scary. When you achieve that kind of skills it really feels that you are the one controlling the game and after that you can do whatever you want and get 10 perfect runs in a row easily. After that the only thing that matters to your score are the patterns you do and how do you milk the boss. Well if you don't want to milk the bosses you won't ever get very high scores except in Lost Area. It is actually pretty cool because after you figure it out it just makes so much sense. Actually you would get 10,000 with just little milking in Area 1. My record for Area 1 boss is 107,000 but I've heard somebody milked 109,000. My infiltration record for Area 1 is 184,000 and the highest I know is little over 190,000 but nowadays I can only get 178,000-180,000. The bosses really play a big part in score attack and it was one of those things we found out the last. When looking these boss rush records here I can really tell that you guys haven't milked at all. My record is over 600,000 and I really believe 700,000 is possible.

I know what you mean when you talk about control... Not until now have I tried linking specific sets of enemies and you really have to cut it really close. Too quick and you'll miss one. Too slow and one will fly off-screen. I think I'm satisified where I am now in that I really don't want to take it even further... It's just too tedious and lots of other games demand my attention and concentration.
Okay, I've updated up to this point - except for you Neidhart, since I'm not sure if you want any of thos enumbers to be taken as an official entry. Either way, your strategy and score contributions are most welcome.

Well these numbers I'm showing aren't posted here to take part in the competition. I didn't come to this board to compete with everyone else, I really just want to see how your scores evolve here. High Scores improve really fast when there's tough competition going on and you guys really should fight for the top slots. I remember when I had competition with HJ in gamefaqs score attack topic and everytime HJ broke my record I started immediately playing the game just to take my record back and once I succeeded HJ broke my new record the next day. BTW I noticed that I said you could milk 150,000 from the final boss but it's kinda wrong. What I meant to say was that you can get 280,000 from it. I said 150,000 because I used to get 280,000-150,000=130,000 and that means when I figured the milking tech I got 150,000 more points. Somebody please post their layer scores for Area 1 so I can see how you are doing in every layer. I'm gonna soon post the patterns for layer 2 in Area 1.
