Yeah...I saw a bunch of copies at Target. It was kind of a suprise to see it in stores so quick. I didn't get for that fact that it would make my pile of shame bigger. Anyone else get it? How 'bout some impressions? :)

From the reviews I've read the gameplay is there but the engine is kinda choppy. There are just some things the GBA wasn't meant to do.
I can't understand Sega and 3D on the GBA. I have Sega Rally, and it looks very much like the same engine as Crazy Taxi. Anything that is 3D has the resolution cut in half (each "game pixel" is actually made of 4 "screen pixels"). And even with half the resolution, the framerate is still choppy. Put that next to V-Rally 3 with its full resolution and smooth framerate (honestly looks like a 1st gen PS game). So..... The GBA can do 3D apparently, just not when Sega's driving. :)
Well said. Keep that 3D shit off the GBA.Quote:

Again, have you seen V-Rally 3?
Crazy Taxi on the GBA is ass. I tried it out at work, and I must say that magazine reviewers were generous with their scores.
The framerate is atrocious, and hurts the play control. There's no need to get this game... it's a bad version of a good game that's been readily available for the past few years. Just forget about it and pray that JSR isn't ass, too.
I have faith in JGR GBA. The Tony Hawk GBA games are really fun. :)
Crazy Taxi GBA got raped in GameNow.
Yoshi is spectacularly close minded and has an amazing ability to just not see something that totally deflates any stupid argument he has managed to conjure up. You really must excuse him.Quote:

Crazy Taxi is too ambitious of a project for GBA. Sega should've tried doing a version with an "RC de GO" perspective or Out Run style "Super Scaler" sprites.
I don't mind seeing 3D games on GBA as long as the developers know what can and cannot be done. Keep choppy 3D off the GBA. Good 3D like V-Rally 3 can stay.
