What do you look for in the opposite sex?

I think we had a thread similar to this, not too long ago, but what the hell, I think I will do it again. You can either describe the perfect mate for you, or just list turn ons and turn offs like me.


Turn Ons
-Can out drink me
-Nipples pierced (piercings/tattoos in general, as long as they look good)
-Like similar music, but not too similar, so we have something to talk about and show each other.
-Plays bass guitar (I have no idea where this one came from, but it is true)
-Cool hair. I dont care how it is cool, whether it is just fucking curly and long as hell or dyed an unusual color, it works for me.
-Is willing to hold intelligent convesations on numerous topics, ranging from serious to insain. Also must be willing to shut the fuck up sometimes and just enjoy life. I love conversation, but I also just like to sit back and reflect in peace, and it would be really cool to have somebody who could enjoy that equally with me.

Turn Offs
-Too happy, too often (not sure why, it should be a good thing, but something about people like this really get to me sometimes).
-Hitting on me while drunk (was I not good enough when you could see straight?)
-Girls that always have to have some type of drama. I know girls that drama follows them, and that sucks, but that is not what I mean. I am talking about girls that cause drama no matter what.
-Girls that dance really well. It is great to look at, but that means you are going to want me to dance w/ you, and I cant dance (ok, this isnt really a turn off, it just kind of pisses me off sometimes)

Odd, my turn ons are fairly simple things, but turn offs are much more complex.

I tried not to be too picky. Pretty much any girl that I found interesting and who found the same in me. I'd probably like someone who didn't need me all the time and was self-sufficent. Then there's all the details like music, movies and all that stuff. Trivial to me, though. As long as she can handle her own life, I'd be pretty stoked.

Yeah, most of my turn ons are just that, things that make me think, wow, that girl is awesome. However, none of them I would think are neccesities. It does not take you a long to figure out whether or not a girl is cool and can handle her own shit, and that is usually the most important thing.

The turn offs, however, except for the dancing one, if present, can easily ruin a relationship.

-More than one piercing on the ears is a bonus.

-Pretty eyes

-Good smile. The type that can just illuminate a face

-Glasses...not necessary, but for some reason, a cute girl is even cuter in glasses.

-Not too hard on herself. I've met girls I've fallen for who wound up being more of an effort to talk to just because they wouldn't believe any guy could like them.

-Able to keep intelligent conversation. Not overbearing social-zealotry of typical politics/social/religious discussion "I'm right you're wrong" attitude.

-Likes music - as long as it isn't rife with top 40 stuff. I don't mind if she likes 'mainstream' (gasp), but I also like it when someone shows interest in obscure stuff.

-NOT JADED. Good grief, it's like every doom-and-gloom person I meet sucks a small part of my own life away. Depressing.

Now that I think about it, I'm sure if I found someone who I really got along with, it wouldn't matter if she any pre-conceived notion. That's what's funny - I still think relationships aren't like jobs - it's not like someone would have to meet qualifications or pass an 'interview' and meet my own agenda. But still...glasses are cute ^_^

As for me:

Intelligence, independence, and style are all big turn ons for me.

Dyed hair, tatoos, and peirings also get me "sprung".

Other than that, I'm really not that picky...just gotta gel with the person I 'spose.
