Does the Xbox version assign the L2 R2 stuff to the black and white buttons? I want to get the Xbox version and use a PS2 controller converter.

Ok so, bottom line:

Does the Xbox version support custom soundtracks? 'Cause this sounds like the weakest of the 3 SSX soundtracks, and I need something to justify buying the Xbox version over the PS2 version. (I hate setting my PS2 up for online play, and I know I'll be compelled to if I get the PS2 version).

Ok, so the Xbox version plays decent due to the B & W buttons, but it probably feels more natural on PS2. Hrmmm... and no conformation of an Xbox custom soundtrack option?

Same here. I'll take better control over slightly better graphics so I'm still planning on getting the PS2 version for now.

I disagree with you here, I think the soundtrack will be the best of the series so far.

Apparently there is no custom soundtrack for the xbox version because the music and how it is manipulated is "integral" to the gaameplaying experience. I'm still torn between getting the xbox and the ps2 versions. Is online play (need to buy a bba) that much better over (slightly) better graphics/load times?

well i'm not sure, but i'm getting the ps2 version for online play, as is one of my friends. maybe you should too.

Does anyone know if Xbox version is in Dolby 5.1, like most any decent Xbox game? That'd make my decision, as I don't have a BBA, and 1v1 online play is a letdown. If it was 8 player or something, I'd be all over that.

"integral"? Please.

I could see if all the music was always mixed in real time, but you can use the money you earn in single player mode to "buy" songs from the playlist for your in game PDA. There should be no reason why your in game PDA can't play songs from your Xbox HD.

Oh well, I guess I'll just get the PS2 version. (I don't have HDTV, or a 5.1 system at my house so I won't really get a big advantage with the Xbox version).

um, the songs are mixed in realtime. remember how the mix dies out whenever you're in midair? also, whenever you're in last place, you generally only hear the bassline + drums.. adds a lot to the game, imo.
