While browsing around the web I came across a picture of something called "All About SNK DVD", unfortunately I have no idea where one can get one of these or even exactly what is on it but is sure does look really cool :D

It says it's a 20th anniversary documentary of the company. Which would lead me to think it's a dvd all about SNK. God, I love being helpful.Quote:

It's too expensive for what it is: DVDs about the history of SNK. In Japanese.
Now, if they were subbed and about 7,000 big Yens cheaper...
what's on it though? could be very much worth it.
any other info on it? anybody? i'd like to know cause it could kick a lot of ass.
Yeah I'm interested to know too...
/me imagines Neo Geo protoype video game footage... like Magician Lord sequel.
Maybe not but it would definately be cool if it where :)
Here's the quick summary -- I'll try to post more details later (I was only able to watch the first DVD for about 30mins last night).
First, there are no subtitles in English or Japanese. The language track is entirely in Japanese, except for the Japan vs Korea KOF2001 Tournament which is in Korean (because this part of the DVD is taken directly from a Korean TV broadcast).
Disc 1 contents:
Documentary Film 1 -- traces the origins of SNK, from its birth in the 70s as Shin Nihon Kikaku, to its re-christening as SNK, right up to the birth of the NEO-GEO systems.
Documentary Film 2 -- the birth and impact of the NEO-GEO systems.
NEO-GEO Works Collection 1 -- chronological presentation of the first half of the NEO-GEO library (from July, 1991 [NAM-1975, Baseball Stars Professional, etc.] to March, 1995 [Quiz King of Fighters, Janshin Densetsu, etc.]).
Special Feature -- Japan vs Korea KOF2001 Tournament
Former SNK spokes-idol Chiba Reiko hosts each of the Documentary Films. From what I've seen so far, each film consists primarily of interviews with various former SNK staff members, location shots in Oosaka (where the company was headquartered), and brief sample cuts from SNK games as they are discussed in the interviews. There are no chapter stops within the documentary films.
The NEO-GEO Works Collections do not appear to be narrated or hosted at all. Rather, the title and date of release of each game is displayed first, followed by selected footage from the game, before moving on to the next game. There is a chapter stop at every games title / date of release screen (making it easier to jump to a particular game).

Uhm 14,000 yen? Being in a tight situation and all some companies sure treats their fans like shit (mainly thinking about the price tag on the Ikaruga DVD)
DVDs in Japan are expensive as it is, though. Which brings me to... Anyone have a legit reason as to why this is true?
