Phantasy Star Online Episode III: Screenshots and info

Sega has unveiled Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution, to be fully shown in one form or another at this year's E3.

C.A.R.D. Revolution expands the world of PSO, offering a new style of strategic combat in the form of card collecting and deck settings with team-based battle tactics. Players can chat in the lobby about upgrades, talk about tactics, try pick-up lines on female HUnewearls, and then zip down to the planet surface and engage in combat using a turn-based Card system. Episode III will continue the story arc of the previous PSO games, with players continuing to explore the mysterious planet Ragol.

Expect to see both online and offline play, as well as multiplayer modes.

At this point, Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution has been announced for GameCube only.

I am very interested to see how the gameplay system works out. I also find it surprising that they numbered this in the series, instead of making a PSO Gaiden.

Hmm, very interesting. Depending on how this turns out, I might actually want to get it and wouldn't mind paying a fee.

Whoa. Unexpected.

I played PSO soo many hours, and then PSO v2 for the one three month period that I payed for, but I didn't want to pay for the keyboard lacking GC version, and I don't have broadband so no Xbox version either.

I'd love to buy this, but I'd need some things to happen. First, I'd need to hear some positive reviews/opinions. My kneejerk reaction is "cards are stupid" but hopefully I'll be proven wrong. Second, dial-up play supported (and playable) and a modem available to be purchased (no shortages please.)

Totally awesome. This better have a slick offline mode to go along with it.

Xbox version dammit...too lazy to buy all that stuff for GC...but I guess I'll already be buying a BBA for Mario Kart...

But will my current Hunters license work with this?
