Either 2000, or 2001, I can't remember.
No, wait, I took a chick on a date to one in 2002, but that was a date so it was playing the lame 'fun' games, so it doesn't count.

2001?
The Aladdin's castle in the local mall closed in 2000. It sucked anyway with all the deluxe cabs that were to suck a few quarters.
There was a great little arcade with four Neo Geo cabs, three versions of Street Fighter, Raiden 2, and others...but no one went there because it got little exposure. Lasted like 8 months.
That killed the arcade business in my town, there was great arcade in a mall about 60 miles away but it was ripped out and replaced by a food court. *-neo
About a week ago. The local arcades here aren't too bad, but a few of them unfortunately rely on illegally modified Dreamcasts to make them money.
December, right before Golfland went out of business.
Or if you count the campus arcade, Thursday.
I uploaded a bunch of arcade pictures here to my new gallery, and theres a bunch from my trip to LA in March in the Bemani section of the gallery. Whoo~
Probably around three or so years ago. I still pop in to check our local place every once in awhile now, but I don't think they've picked up anything new for over a year. :\
The last time I spent any real money at one...probably in the days of SF 2.
