To anyone who's counting... 3rd job in 3 months.

After a few months of being a substitute teacher, I managed to get a job as a Sr. Staff Assistant (heh heh, staff) at the Jackson Medical Towers here in Miami, which is a part of the University of Miami. Which means that besides my meager wage (it's not that bad, really $10.50/hr. Enough to pay the car and get some games), after the trial period I get free tuition to UM. Now I can go back and finish all those college courses I started!

The best way to get jobs is through connections... I swear, there are tons of pretty high paying jobs in these offices, and I don't think a single person got in here through a newspaper ad. Let's just say that there are shitloads of repeating last names in the roster. How's everyone else doing, financial-wise?

Well I still live with my parents since I'm 16, but I finally have a job working at a resturaunt within my local grocery store. I bus tables, making $5.50 an hour and working around 10-15 hours on a good week, due to limitations from my work permit. I'm pretty happy with the job, and I should be able to get a computer in a few months with the money I'm saving up. Which is a first for me, I've never had my own computer, always using my dads.

Also though, I referee for soccor, and if all goes well there one day I may be doing international games, getting paid trips around the world, and still getting paid for it. My employers have both given me great reviews, so I think I can make it pretty well in refereeing.

I live in a small town in one of the poorest areas of one of the poorest states in the country. Let's just say my employment opportunities are pretty limited since I don't have any trade skills. I'm lucky to have a job at all.

My job is easy as hell, pays decently, and is good exercise. Cost of living around here is DIRT cheap, and I share expenses with my girlfriend, so I get by with a few bucks every month to spend on games.

I'm not well-off by any means, but it's a good, simple life around here.

only $5.50/hour? im not sure where you live, but in California minimum wage is $6.75/hour. i dont know much about the law and wages, but i think you should be making a bit more than you are.

He's still 16... I think that has something to do with it. You work less hours and get less pay.

No... the reason minimum wage is higher in California... Is the cost of living is one of the highest in the country. Minimum wage veries among states. So $5.50 is most likely correct where ever he is. And I believe they can't pay him (or anyone) under minimum wage. Even if he is underage.

Nah. The Hard Rock Cafe job I've only been at for about two weeks.

I got all the other stuff when I was managing a Babbages.

P.S. All that video game stuff is at my house that I used to live in with my girlfriend in Crofton. I don't live there anymore, so I no longer have any stuff. Except an Xbox... which is really all I need.
