I also didn't understand what you were getting at because that information still doesn't exactly despute the fact Retro Studios and NoA thought Chozo was a race and not the japanese word for statue :)

I've seen Nintendo use the torijin reading (and torizou) reading for bird to differentiate between choujin (aviator) and chouzo (carved statue) before. I understand choujin is a reading of those two kanji, it's the ruby in the e-manga. But i'm pretty sure i've seen "torijin no zou" furigana before. Anyway like I said, I'm sorry, I just thought you got mixed up with "carved". Chou is a pretty overused sound in Japanese, it's the homonym to end all homonyms :)

I know what the Itoh comic was about, but it really doesn't factor in at all. It was for Nintendo Power. NCL probably don't even know it exists; forgot about it; or it was a derivative work from official linear-notes, and the "new" storyline is simply another derivative of that source. Only annoying American fans seem to want to hold on to that shite comic.

Not knocking Benimaru, love his Pokemon books and plastic StarFox, Secret of Mana, and Earthbound models. I just think he's comics are best forgot :D

What's this thread doing on page 2? The game's out and so far (2 hrs in) it is making Fusion look bad....and I liked Fusion alot.

The game turning out any better then super or is this more of a repeat?

It's all new. There's definatly "landmarks" thrown around to give it the Metroid 1 feel, but other than that it's a new map. I like it better than Super so far, but like I said I'm only 2 hrs in. What I'm loving about it is on the surface it has the linearity of Fusion, but it is so easy to infinate bomb-jump in this game that you can litterally go off anywhere you want. The individual room puzzels (how do I get that missle tank?) are the best in the series so far as well.

This game also marks the return of wall/floor blocks that look like they're solid but aren't when you roll up to them. There's also plenty of totally unmarked bomb-able bricks leading to secrets. They're everywhere. Bomb every square inch and up and down every wall.

This is just a really great game.

I agree I've beaten the game and now I'm starting my 3rd time through the game and actually playing it on a GBA this time ;) well GBP anyway

and the game looks amazing on the GBP

it looks like it belongs on it not like some games that just look blown up and made big

I linked up the game with Fusion and thought it was very cool to get to see the endings that they made for the Japanese release very cool stuff

personally I love the game other than 15 - 30 minutes later on this is my fav of the 2D Metroids by far

the controls are so tight and perfect and the backgrounds are gorgeous simply stunning they have this hmmm more like a comic book kinda artsy feel to them

I really hoep they remake II like this it soooo needs it

I've got like forty five minutes on the thing and I can already tell it's one of the best things to come out on GBA. Also, I cheated and looked in a strategy guide, and yeah the new added stuff is some fucking awesome shit...

Um. I was expecting short, but geez.

Just finished it in three hours :/
