They are there, but WAY redeuced.
That's not what makes the game look so great though, it's the removal of a lot of shimmering that makes it look good I think.

Too bad the lighting is completely wrong. Shimmering is pretty much gone but the aliasing is still pretty terrible. It makes Aoi's stage look nasty in particular. I still wish this was on DC, I reckon it could be done better on that. I'm sure we wouldn't have the memory card screw ups either...
I actually think the lighting is pretty good. The whole game, aside from some poor textures is pretty fine looking to me. It's not arcade perfect, but I like looking at it.
The memory card thing is a bummer. I remember someone on Veruses city telling why it was done the way it was, and it made sense. I can't remember his point though.:D
I keep jumping to different characters. First it was Brad. Then Shun. Then it was Goh. Then when I got my arcade stick I used Wolf with my highest success, and even managed to pull of the SPOD a few times with Akira. Now I'm back to Shun.
I think one of the games strongest selling points are how different the characters feel from one another. More so then VF4, they really all seem to have their own style in EVO.
The lighting is very different to the arcade. I see nothing wrong with the textures though.
Evo could be called VF5, the characters are so different. Sarah, Goh and Aoi here.
I never played the arcade, I've only seen video. Even from the small vids I have seen, I can see quite a difference. Textures seem like the biggest thing to me, but no real complaints. It's my favorite fighter.
I never got into Sarah or Aoi. I should give them a look. Goh, he's just great. My only gripe is he feel a little to defensive at times. That's why I went to Wolf, I liked his striking better. Goh is a monster though, his sabaki with his tsukame grapple makes him so much fun to use.
I've heard that the memory card thing might be changed for the U.S. release. Also, I probably won't notice any of the shimmering or lighting problems, so as long as the jaggies are gone, I'm a happy man.
SC is like VF's best student, but it sure as hell hasn't surpassed it's master yet. VF4 DESTROYED VF3 in every category. SC1 actually seems more balanced than SC2 right now. Of course I won't know for sure until I play SC2 longer, but it's way too similiar to 1. This is based on playing it from it's import release till now.Quote:

SC2 is just better ;)
You're tripping buddy. VF4 looks way better than Tekken, even the jaggy version. It destroys Tekken 4 in like character models, facial detail, animation, clothing movement, water physics, everything except textures, image quality, and background size. ALthough the background detail in VF4 is way better. Vf4EVO just flat out kills it. SC2 is a different story though. Sometimes VF4EVO looks better than SC2, but SC2 just looks nice all the time and has no graphical flaws at all. Unlike VF4EVO having the occasional bad textures and Tekken 4 with the bland backgrounds and the low poly models.Quote:

Anyways, I guess its safe to assume that Evolution will not be coming to the XBox as once rumored. That sucks mainly due to the fact that Sega seems to be unable to get VF4 to run without those damn jaggies. Why must Tekken look so good and VF4 look so bad?
The fact that VF4 has better models than Tekken 4 is what upsets me the most. I want those models to look as good as they possibly can.
Hearing that Evolution improves on this makes me happy. Perhaps I will be able to sleep soundly tonight...
Is the music the same? Also, do Goh and Brad have their own levels?
The music is different, worse actually. Some people might like the music better. It doesn't matter though, cause the original tracks play when you play in the original stages.
Some of the changes I don't like graphically though. Like the softer look on the charcater models. I'd rather them just keep the exact same VF4 look and get rid of the jaggiez.
Brad and goh do not have their own levels.
