See topic. My friend is taking an online course, with each class available as a streaming video. He doesn't have a broadband connection at home, but he has one at work, as well as a CD burner. So what he wants to be able to do is to save the streaming video as a movie file that he could burn onto a CD and watch at home.
Is there a way to do it?
I think it depends on the format. mms:// (Windows Media) streams won't cache AFAIK, Quicktime does cache, Real doesn't, yadda yadda yadda.
Don't quote me on those, but I know quicktime will cache the files to the windows' temp directory.

Well, You can try to use ASF recorder, it will allow you to download and safe some of ASF and ASX streamed formats into MPEG and save them to hardrive.
