Agreed. The only thing to challenge Halo is Halo 2. Then MAYBE Doom 3 and probably Halflife 2.... when they come to console.

Sadly I read the book, anyone else? It was pretty good actually. Gave you a lot of cool insights on the games characters.
Mog, I don't think comparing Halo to PC ports like Half-Life and Deus Ex is really fair since they are obviously downgraded. The PC versions of those games are better than Halo if you ask me.

Halo has a great storyline.
I don't like the game at all though. I don't really like FPS. Outrigger was fun though.
All of Segas offerings have been more conservative in nature. I have a hard time believing that they could be capable of a game like Halo, but who knows.
Sega always seems to shock me once and awhile.

As a launch game, Halo was outstanding. Released at any other time, it would be above average. I mean, you could tell that the game was obviously rushed, especially after The Silent Cartographer level. It became a repetitive shooter at this point. It gets extra points for the coolness of driving the vehicles.
I find it funny though, when watching the footage of Halo 2 from E3, the fans are going crazy when the Chief uses his sniper rifle, and then when he takes out two weapons. I mean this has been done for years in other games, but when Halo 2 does it, they go crazy. Although, I loved the takeover of the ghost and the warthog.
I got the Halo book for free from Borders a couple of weeks ago. Nice little read so far. If Sega can make a "Halo-killer", good for them. If not, it's no big deal. There are plenty of great FPSes out there anyway.
I read the book and then i read the sequel. Or would that be I read the book and the prequel that set up the story for the game. Either way I liked the prequel more than the other one, as I already knew what was gonna happen with the Game book. I did love reading all the comments the soldiers were making as you move through the game in print tough, they made me remember laughing at some of them so bad I died in game.
Any way, I think Sony's Halo killer was Planetside, but I could be wrong.
