As for Halo-killers (bet you're now sorry you used that phrase, aren't you?), Halo might do that itself once it finally hits PC with the extra multiplayer stuff, although I have my doubts about a flamethrower being in there. Diff, I disagree with the statement that the Japanese can't do FPSs. If they can make good third-person games, I'm sure they can make good first-person ones.
The problems have simply been A) most FPSs that have come out of Japan have been by lesser developers and B) Most FPSs that have come out of Japan were back in the pre-Quake era when almost every non-Doom FPS sucked.
Unless it involves light guns or motorcycles, I seriously doubt it. Beyond the two aforementioned genres WoW has a pretty spotty track record. Easily Sega's worst team.Quote:

Let's jsut say it's as unlikely as an American team is to oust Championship Manager. A certain amount of fandom and experience is needed. It seems like Sega's doing it just to compete. Projects like that are never good. It's an uphill battle.Quote:

Somebody saying "This is a GTA killer" reminds people to go out and buy GTA instead when the game they release sucks.
PS: Not liking Halo is one thing, but I think they are referring to Halo's sales numbers considering a smaller Xbox userbase. Whether you like Halo or not, unless something outsells it and is an FPS its not a "Halo Killer". No FPS Sega could make could be a "Halo Killer" unless they pull a Nintendo and hire an American or European team to make it (Metroid Prime).
