Your favorite non-Capcom/SNK 2D fighters?

I'm thinking mostly of those obscure Neo Geo 2D fighters like Galaxy Fight, Waku Waku 7, World Heroes, Breakers, etc....but what are some other good ones?

Did anyone else like Groove On Fight for the Saturn?

Groove On Fight's pretty cool. The Guilty Gear series is also a worthy mention.

Why, Breakers Revenge, Mortal Kombat II, TMNT Tournament Fighters, Waku Waku 7, and Yie Are Kung Fu, of course!

The Gundam fighters are pretty decent as well. Tatsunoku Fight (I think that's what it's called) is fun IF you are a fan but it's kinda basic for the hardcore players.

Id have to say my fav is the Guilty Gear series

I have never bought a non-Capcom/SNK fighter and have no plans to change that in the future.

edit: I take that back. I bought Eternal Champions. Oh well...

Not into Guilty Gear? Its the only relevant great fighter that's not SNK/Capcom.

It'd have to be the Guilty Gear Series for me. I can't help but feel I'm forgetting a non Snk/Capcom game I really enjoyed though....

I don't really like Guilty Gear that much. The art is great but the animation is too choppy.

i think the only non-capcom/SNK 2D fighters i've played were mortal kombat series, TMNT tournament fighters, and killer instinct. out of those, i'd have to go with mortal kombat 2. for a brief while, i preferred to play it over street fighter 2.
