I didn't even know till I read the GI (scored in the high 8s, btw) review that game has 4 player combat! I got a couple friends interested in playing this, so I was wondering how long it takes to aquire the first two sidekicks.

I thought the story was one of the better ones in the series. Better than Destiny or Eternia, at least. Though I suppose that's a low bar. Maybe I just liked how it tied into Phantasia. Either way the gameplay more than hold it up in any event.
i don't really understand how it relates to phantasia, as i never played much of that game. then again, that's really unimportant for 99% of the people who'll potentially be playing this game either, so i don't feel so bad. =) i thought eternia had a marginally better story, but i didn't quite beat that game, so i don't know how it all ties up.
and, yes, the game is so much fun that it doesn't really matter. i'd give the story a C-, so it's not like it's horrifically bad or anything. SO3 is holding my interest much better in that regard, but i'm not enjoying the game as much.
It's a distant prequel to Phantasia, but alot of stuff ties in, and areas overlap.Quote:

Has anyone tried the multiplayer combat? I've watched some fight videos, and the camera seems to follow the main character. Will it pull back when other people are playing or what?
The story in Eternia was better? What about the characters themselves. I didn't much care for either, but I thought the characters were terrible. I'd changed my mind, and was going to pick this up. Perhaps now I won't. Fun combat won't help me play through something at all like Eternia again.Quote:
