Well, Symphonia was also released on the PS2 in Japan, with various bonuses and updates (as well as some small graphical downgrades). So it's not exactly a GC exclusive. But the GC will be the only system to have the game in English.Quote:

Then, when the game was actually coming to an end, they say (this is not a joke) "this is it, this is our last battle", or something like that 3 or 4 times. Not in a row, seperate occasions. So:
"this is it, this is our last battle",
Fight
Wander
"this is it, this is our last battle",
Fight
Wander
"this is it, this is our last battle",
Fight

It's the dumbest shit. Fun game never the less.
I like long games, but as I am getting older I have less time to play them. :( I only get to play for like 2 hours a day tops on weekdays. Weekends are a little better, I might play for a good 5 hours on a Sunday. There are some many games in my Pile of Shame...sigh.
Oh good this thread got bumped.
You cannot be serious. I don't think many people say Star Ocean 2 is the only reason to have a PS1 (nor really discuss it in a positive light today). After finishing the game I think the only redeeming qualities this game has are -Quote:
Years from now it will be one of the games people talk about being the only reason to have a GC.
1) A decent battle system.
2) Some of the voice acting of the main people (all of the VA of the enemies is garbage).
3) Sheena's bouncing titties.
Also having replay incentive with game-breaking options like 10xExp doesn't seem so bad, but after finishing the game off I have absolutely no desire to even try it a second time.
The delivery and wording of most of the script is so heavy-handed it's almost self-parody; Regal is more wooden than a forest. I don't know why but having to trudge through the staple array of elemental dungeon types (The Ice Stage, The Electricity Stage, The Wind Stage) felt offensive. The z-trigger side story parts with voiceless text that you can't even page through at your own reading pace was very goddamned annoying; by hour 20, when these parts came up I started the event and left to go take a piss or get a soda. By the time I got to the final-final-final part with all of the doublecrossing and quadruplecrossing and LUKE I AM YOUR FATHER and everyone dying one-by-one to only come back when it matters most!!! I was just paging through all of the text as quickly as possible just to get to the battles and put the game down.
ToS isn't "worst RPG of all time" horrible; like I said, the battle system is fine and the location (ie. not the overworld) graphics is good, but pretty much everything else about the game is just uninspired. Even with two overworlds, ToS doesn't convey half of the sense of discovery or exploration that DQ8 does. But the mostly bland music, the paint-by-numbers storyline, and the ham-fisted script served as my three strikes. ToS is out.
