Okay, so I just finished Destiny. Took me about 39 hours which is just about the perfect length for an RPG IMO, but I skipped (minor spoilers ahead) Druaga, chef hunting and gourmet dish making, seed planting, most of the wherehouse puzzles, and tournament winning after acquiring Bruiser. I think I did most of the other tidbits after doublechecking a walkthrough when I finished. I'm very irritated that the Combo Command wasn't easier to find and placed earlier in the game. It would've made battles much more enjoyable. I also didn't even find the Tech Ring till I was roaming around that building it's in during the last third of the game. I guess I'm just not thorough enough to enjoy all the little extras they add to a game like this. I get bored searching every nook and cranny after every major event.
I did like the game though. Wasn't amazing but wasn't half-bad either. The voices and overworld map chats that were removed would've added a lot of personality but oh well. Also, I'm curious what Lillith was like in battle. :( . Now that I know what to expect, I'm looking forward to the other Tales and Star Ocean games I'll be playing in the future, especially seeing how Destiny is supposedly the worst in the bunch. I'm taking a break before I dive into Eternia though. Think maybe I'll finally start Breath of Fire IV.
