I don't know why'd you'd forget globally, as the parent makes money in all three.
I don't know how they'd work anything out. It would be a power struggle from the get-go and Nintendo definitely wouldn't go for it unless it meant a cash payoff for them in the end... who knows...
Without any links to any type of site, reputable or not, I'm just gonna assume that kbuchanan read something about how ATI is making chipsets for both Nintendo and Microsoft's next consoles.

Personally though I will stand firmly by my, "this ain't happening till hell freezes over", stance.
And even if it does before hell freezes over, I will deny it is happening illogically, and yes if necessary, violently.
The only tidbits i've recently heard involving Nintendo and MS is that Nintendo just bought back a bunch of its stock, and some people think thats a move to prevent a hostile takeover by MS. Thats a bit of a stretch though, because companies buy back their stock all the time.

I confess these numbers are based off memory and might be slightly off but I do remember pretty clearly that the GC wasn't in the #2 slot.
It would make alot more sense for Microsoft to buy Nintendo instead of partnering with them.

Microsoft can't sell the Xbox in Japan, even if it came with a free bj. The Japanese are loyal to thier brandnames. If Microsoft wants to compete on a global scale, they need a Japanese company with clout to push game/console sales there. Perhaps if they got Nintendo to use thier name, with MS's hardware, they could make headway over there. Meanwhile in the US, the console is pushed with Microsoft's brandname. Nintendo gets free publishing rights on the console and both companies win.
While I doubt this will happan by the next console or maybe even after that. If it did the two of them would not have to relocate offices, just build a walk way over the street that seperates them.
In theory, it sounds very nice, but the question is will it ever happen. My guess is no or at least no time soon, but it would save me some cash instead of having 1 other system to buy.
