If it's new, it better be 100% new. I don't want my new game to come in some cheesy ziploc bag.
Because there are a lot of anal people.
If the game is pristine perfect, I don't care. I have a problem when stores gut, then use those stupid frigging stickers to "seal" the game, and prevent you from returning it after they've been removed. Not only does this leave behind residue, it just pisses me off on principle: if a store wants to gut, fine, but accept the consequences with the returns.
I don't refuse to buy gutted games, however very often you'll get a scratched disc, or the case will be broken. Hell, one time I found some pages from an instructional manual ripped out. This practice along with prices, has me doing very little business with EB. If you pay full price for a game, you could at the very least have a scratch-free disc.
I've really grown sick of EB. They usually have the gall to shrinkwrap their gutted games. I like the Gamestop stores much better.

I try not to buy "gutted" games. If I am paying for a new game, I want it unopened. If the game is 100% perfect, and the last one, I'll usually buy it though. I hate buying "gutted" Ps2 games because that little sticker on the top is always ripped off. I like to save them so even if I end up selling the game, i'll always remember I had it. I used to do this with psx games when I bought them. Some games were so unmemorable, that if it wasn't for the sticker, I would've never remembered owning them..
Just a personal preference. I just don't like other people touching my games. Maybe if people knew how to handle things better it wouldn't be that big a deal.
AMEN. Especially for everyone who's looked through used games/worked at a game store and seen some of the used games people sell/tried to sell. "So, did you try to wipe the blemish off with steel wool?"Quote:

I have no real problem with gutted games, but not full price. Someone has dicked around in there, no matter how little. If it was the store copy, just $5 off, something to show that they know it was opened, and maybe even (likely) played a bunch by them.
one thing alot of consumers need to realise though is that
if stores didnt have to worry so much about theft there wouldnt be a need to gut games
people want to look at cases and the back of games which is understandable but you cant have everyone standing at the counter looking at games but if you put out games with the disc in them you asking for trouble
shit man over the hollidays we had a total of 40 yes 40 EMPTY cases stolen
imagine how much wed be missing if there were games in there
but i like the way we gut games we make sure not to break the seal on the top or side(xbox games) and as soon as the game comes out of the case it goes into a paper sleeve and then shrink wrapped so that no one can screw with the game or anything
I can understand some peoples feelings but look at it from the stores perspective why should they eat 5 bucks on a game cause theyre trying to prevent theft from the same consumers (not same as in same people)
Same here.Quote:

I'll only buy resealed games if its the last copy.
