A couple months ago when on vacation in Chicago, I went to the Arlington Heights location of Mitsuwa and picked up a shitload of stuff. Lots of green tea, a couple packs of Pocky (good stuff), Meiji Chocolate Macadamias (now these really rock, and the box has a nice Engrish slogan on it saying "Macadamia, called "king of nuts", is very valuable" or something such), and a few bags of rice crackers went into my basket. Calpico Water and Ueshima Coffee Co. canned green tea are very good.
Green Tea Pocky? Hmmm, I might like that.
Lately, I've bought a Joseph Schmidt chocolate truffle sampler at Borders Books. JS chocolates are joy.
Oh Oh have any of you had those flavored water things, where instead of puting a cap on, you suck up this marble into a hole that plugs the top? oh its really hard to explain but its mighty nifty!
That's Ramune I think you mean.....
I forgot to mention Dorayaki. I ate so many of those I almost swore them off:/ It's waffle batter filled with sweet beans. The most common variety I saw looked like a hockey puck but they do come in other shapes. Manju (steamed buns) are great too, although I don't know if those would be classified as a dessert, probably just a snack.
Yes. Good.Quote:

Rice crackers.
I used to like Pocky - back before all of the smelly American otaku ruined it by always talking about the stuff and thinking they were "more Japanese" by eating it.
"He he, see how hardcore otaku I am, I know about this stuff called Pocky, it's like the mega-popular Japanes snack! Fear my knowledge of Japan!"
You must be a trendsetter, or something.
I'm not playing the "I used to like X band until everybody else starting liking them" thing, just to clear that up.
