I seem to be going color-blind. I'm having trouble telling apart the City Stage boss's blue bullets from my own. Perhaps the solution is not to fire at all, and let my Reflect Force do the talking?
You know, of all the unjust reviews I've read of Giga Wing 2, none irk me more than this one.

Edit: Which pattern on that boss is giving you troubles, specifically? The large blue spread?
Yeah, that's the part I have difficulty with. It starts out simple enough, but then it throws an irregular bullet into the pattern. Really cheeses me off. I try to stay near the bottom middle of the screen since that's where he leaves the most room to manuever, but it gets tricky when my blue bullets get crossed with his.Quote:

One other thing: to score the 1,250,000 I have to kill it with the dome closed, right? When's the best time to do this -- when he lands after launching the missiles?
For the large blue spread, stay at the bottom of the screen until it starts getting uncomfortably close, then deploy your RF/RL and move straight toward the source of the bullets. Once your Force is about to deplete, move up into one of the upper corners and then lead the pattern slowly across the screen by riding the edge of the swath. This is infinitely easier than taking it head-on and also allows you to get a bit more damage in.
And yeah, after the missile/landing sequence is when I generally take out the dome. It requires a pretty good understanding of just how much damage you're inflicting and how to apply that to a consistent strategy to take advantage of that tiny window of opportuny, though. What I do with Chery is hang right above the core just before he's about the close the dome: close enough so that my secondary weaponry is striking by my main guns are not. Then once the dome closes, it's just a matter of backing up a bit and hitting him point blank with all my firepower. I also make sure to reserve a RF for the missiles as well, so I'm then able to stay nice and close to the dome to get that extra damage in.
Took me awhile to get a sense of how much damage to inflict beforehand, but once I did it became quite simple to do consistently.
Agh, that fourth level owns me!

I'm _this_ close to taking down the Stage 4 boss. I think his bark is worse than his bite, really.
Problem is, it's a pretty nasty bark.
And that first leg of stage 4 is a bit of a wild card with me too, right up to the bullet-spewing dragonflies.
BTW, I seem to have ruffled some feathers at the Gamecritics.com board over this game.
