Well, I finally got to give this one a play-through or two. Aside from the last form of the last boss, it is surprisingly easy...for a Cave shmup that is. ;) Anyway, I love it. Switching modes right before something dies is a great way to clear the screen of unwanted bullets. A cool play mechanic. I'm still not sure how your gold bricks effect your score, and if they're more important to have durring the level or at the end of the level.
Anyway, glad I imported this one.
I'm jealous. I still don't have this game, and I think I will like it even bettter than DOJ from some of the comments above.
Yeah, funny thing is I thought the audio coming out of my game was supposed to be better than the compressed audio I downloaded on my PC. Yet I find myself going back to the Espgaluda videos wishing that my actual game sounded that complete. So, I've got a yes and a no on the stage 1 BGM... but what about the midboss explosions? Are they muffled for you guys?Quote:

The only thing I don't like so far is the pattern on the final boss's first form that chugs like hell. The way it slows down then suddenly speeds up then chugs again bothers the hell out of me, and has even been known to kill me. Hate it.
I don't really have too much to add, but I'm honestly loving this game. I know it is much easier than the average Cave game, but damn if it isn't fun actually seeing some progress in my abilites. I think this is going to be my first "serious" attempt at a shooter. I can actually see myself 1CCing this someday.
Also, other than the rather vanilla character design, I really love the artwork here. The enemy & back ground designs are really nice.
DDP DOJ is really great and all, but now my JPS2 has totally made itself worth it.

That's exactly why I intend to play this game seriously. The DonPachi's are fun and all, but once I get to the later levels it's such a struggle for me to stay alive that I can't even focus on score at all. That isn't fun for me, it's just plain frustrating.Quote:
