it was just weird there would be entire blocks just empty even during the day in NYC it could be like 5 am and the fucking streets are packed with people *L*

That sounds like Chicago. I spent a lot of time there in the mid 90s and I well and truly hated it at first. After I had spent a lot of time I realised that it was pretty decent if you went to the right places with the right people. I still tend to think that I had a nice time in spite of the place though and now that it's in the past I have less than zero desire to go back. :\Quote:

I dunno, I have had a few really late nights in Manhattan and at 3-5am it can be really eerie and quiet sometimes. That's soooo strange when it happens and when you can drive from one end of the other in no time, whereas in the afternoon it may take hours. :pQuote:

I didn't even go home after classes got out.
yeah but nothing compares to the Met
or all the galleries in SoHo and shit
Id just like to state for the record that i do loathe Boston
I hate San Francisco just because it's too damned happy looking. I'm not used to all that sun and color, it frightens me. Much like a Richard Scarry book.
NYC is not so bad for the arts you know? :p
Philly may compare well to some other cities.. but NYC? It has plenty of wonderful world class art schools and museums. I actually looked at both in both cities (and others) when I was considering going to art school, before I wised up. I don't think any place in North America compares when it comes to the arts (or art schools, SVA, eh?), though there are some other good cities.
Anyway, I am not bashing Philly. I just made a wiseass crack is all. :p
I loathe boston because i had to drive in it
and none of the streets are labeled
i hate that

I don't really hate any place... I just like to tease people from Toronto, Philly, and Staten Island. Toronto is actually a pretty decent city and nicer than any city I have been to in the US, except for NYC... but I crack wise because people from the rest of Canada can't stand the centre of the universe attitude of the media there. I don't really care about Philly one way or the other. Staten Island is pretty stinky and all, and it's the one place people in NJ can rightly make fun of without getting it in return... :pQuote:
