Maybe some new franchises to go along with the new logo are at hand. They better, because if anything, 3DO is a fine example of over milking the cow and we all know what happened there.

The logo looks unbalanced, the arrow's too heavy on the right side, while the text seems to be too light. There's some design tips Eidos, fix your logo now. :)
Oh good, I'm not the only one who thought the new logo was supposed to be a schlong. What statement does the new logo say? It says, loud and clear, "dick!"

blah the only good game eidos published was deus ex but one game isnt enough for me to like them.........
as for konami i dont give a damn what their logo looks like their probably the best jap publishers around
That is indeed one bitchin' arrow. Next Tomb Raider is already good.
Image means everything when you are a no name company struggling to gain recognition for something special. I don't think I've recognised eidos for anything major except for TR most of the time though. And then when I think of TR I think of Core, and when I think of Core I think of Chuck Rock on the Amiga. :D I can relate to chuck rock and all those old games more than new ones.
Nothing beats the atari logo though. Tradition is more powerful than trying to keep a modern image like every other single company, I find. People may not recognise or care what the new image looks like and may see it as a sign thier old image was unstable and that they shouldn't be trusted in future because they are changing all the time.
Totally, but I wouldn't have minded if it "represented our edgier, more x-treme and progressive foward thinking and is symbolic of the type of gamer who enjoys our games. Edgy kinds." as it was actually what I expected to hear.Quote:

Personally I'd like to have seen "Here's our new logo, it looks like a giant schlong because only guys with really big dicks are cool enough to play our games", but that's just me.
One thing I am happy about, referring back to the Atari thing, is that no company that's owned the logo has thought for a second about changing it. For a company, a logo is a powerful, defining thing. It's not about the name, or the font used to define the text, or anything like that, it's about the instant association we make with a symbol to a company. The Nike swoosh, the (former) Konami bars, even the Working Designs red/pink triangles, it's a quick and unique visual that can be picked up out of a crowd of similiar items. I'm glad that the companies that have owned the Atari name over the years have recognized the iconography of the Atari blast-off thingy.
Of course, changing your logo isn't all that big a deal when all you had before was the old Eidos one.

No worse than any explanation of any corporate logo. They're all pretentious marketing babble.Quote:
