Undying

OK, so Ive never really played much of PC games. Just a few here and there on friends PC's. So I decided I should start playing some PC games and Im on the hunt for a few in specific. So I'm not really looking for advice on certain games.

But, I went out today on a hunt for the Thief 1&2 bundle, and instead found Clive Barkers Undying which I had hear good things about and seemed interesting to me. I set up up and go through all the settings and so forth, all the while with nice chanting and ambien music in the back ground, but all of a sudden when get to the game, the audio turns all horrible. Just crunchy garbled sounds. I have a Dell Laptop with a "Crystal WDM" sound card as near as I can tell. All my paperwork on this thing is backa t my old house, so I'm not 100%. I don't see Windows XP supported on the box either, and thats what I happen to be running. Is it just a patch problem, or something else? If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be much appreciative.

the rest of my system specs are as follows(if they are of some kind of help):

Pentium 1.8Ghz
512MB RAM(DDR I think)
GeForce 440 ToGo 32MB video RAM

I played Undying running XP on my home pc and it worked fine. There were couple of crashes, but nothing major. It worked pretty well with my Radeon 9700 Pro card, and I think you card should be able to run the game fine.

As for sound issue, I dont think I can help you, since I had no problems whatsoever with sound when running it. Hmm, do search on Google for Undying sound problems to see if anyone else experienced something simular.

I just restarted and loaded up the game again with no troubles. Its running beautifuly now. I have no idea what went wrong. Thank you for the response though.

I tried a couple google searches, but nothing worthwhile came up as far as I could tell. Oh well, game runs fine now.

I'm glad that you can now play the surprisingly cool game that is Undying :D

Undying is one of the scariest games on the PC...it's got a real creepy setting and a lot of unexpected stuff happens, definately a cool game though.

Just started playing this game. Fun stuff! Kept me riveted for 2 hours straight. Looks pretty nice too in 1600x1200 with settings turned up (and some anisotropic filtering for good measure).
