I've been a fan since the first and I see it as a real peice of work that does justice for both films, so I've been wondering if this is as good as the orginal or what?
comments anyone?

I have only played the Marine demo of AvP2 but I can tell I will most likely like it more than the first game and I plan on buying it when I get a better computer. It just looks and feels nicer. I haven't played enough to describe it properly but you can tell it was made by a different developer.
I heard there wasn't that big if a difference, but fox has added in more out of their license for music and sound files.
Last time I remember wanting to rip alien trilogy's music tracks just so I have something to listen to while playing.
I still haven't gotten around to picking this one up- the first one was excellent. I would really like to see them put the original Jaguar AvP game in as a bonus feature to future AvP releases...
In a nutshell:
Marines: Excellent, they managed to capture the scary being hunted feeling again.
Predator: Also excellent. I would have to say I preferred many of AvPs predator levels more then AvP2s, but they're still worth it just to have more.
Aliens: They took the biggest hit. Because the story structure forces all three races to be within roughly the same area, they didn't create levels that were cunductive specifically to the Alien and it makes their suffer badly. There is some definate cool stuff here (starting off play as a chest burster ripping your way out of a human is sheer genius), but the first was head and shoulders better here.
Come for the Marines, stay for the Predator, and deal with the Aliens. In gameplay terms I preferred the first in many ways (the Marines campaign in the original is quite possibly the scariest videogame in existance), although AvP2 won't disappoint so long as you're not expecting it to be the next great leap.
I've had the multiplayer demo since the game first came out, and it was well worth the download. Sice it only had one level to play, I got tired of it after a few months. If anyone has any info on the current state of online multipalyer, please fill me in.
Also, how is the $10 expansion pack that I've seen lying around store shelves? Is it worth getting, or is it just another worthless add-on that should've been free?
I'm a huge fan of Aliens and Predator. This game is sweet to play. If you like the first one, then the second one should satisfy you.
Ok, I just got it ($15, lucky!) and it's turning out to be pretty good so far. Thing I don't like, I'm starting the marine stage and there's more explore/flip switch objectives so there's nothing like the run-n-gun of the original, I'm just hoping it'll pick up soon. At least it's reminding me of unreal 2 at the moment. So far, it feels like it's part of a movie!
Now if there's one thing that's bugging me, I don't see any option to bring the gamma level up a little. Is there some kinda code for this or what? IT'S TOO DARK!!! (kinda feels like playing silent hill in FPS :p )
I'm gonna run this awhile, then I'll see how the predator game turns out. ;)
ok, just because I'm bumping this doesn't mean I'm trying to (hopelessly) keep this thread alive. If anyone knows my current reputation, I'm pretty crazy about downloading levels so I thought a few links would be in order.

Now there's this level called "Fear" which is absolute Alien (first one) with cramped corridors, noises from out of knowwhere, and aliens that know exactly how to sneak in an ambush. I can compare this easy to silent hill and say it's a real experiance in terror! I really should thank the aurthor who made this as he knew exactly how to bring this franchise justice.
As for the rest of you, you really need to get this game cause you don't know what your missing!
