I was in this EB once, and this kid totally made up a story just so he had something to say. It was great.Quote:

Ha! (afx is ever so smart)
I work at a video store, and it still boggles my mind how often people think they can just slip out of a Late fee. The most common reponse is, "No it was on time." And of course it was not because we know what time it was checked in on and what date. Telling this to them of course makes them furious because you basicaly without so many words called them a liar. If you just don't budge on the situation people pay, or just get angry and leave. Either way I get something out of it, them leaving, or getting them to pay.
The thing that tends to work the best though is when they say that somebody else rented it, because it now requires more work on our part to dig out the signed recipt. But if we do go to that expense it makes them looks like complete idiots. They then just go, "Guess I forgot."
I also like it when the store is closed for the evening and you are counting out the drawer and what not and you get the guy who comes up to the dark store and pulls on the locked door, and then goes, "COME ON! Let me in and get one real quick, I know what I want! Please let me in!" And you just kinda look at them and go, "We are closed, and tap the watch." Its funny when they try to argue what time it really is, "Your clocks must be pretty fast then, I have it 3 minutes till. Can't I just come in." I just go, "We work on our clock, sorry."
The best is the drop box return. Movies at our store must be returned by closing. So after we are closed people just put them in the outdoor drop box. If they see you in there people will open the little door and bend over to get their mouth in it and go, "This better not be late! You are still there, so its not late." And I go, "Well they have to be back by closing time, other wise they are late. And we are closed." "Oh come on! You are in the store right now!" I just shrug and tap the watch again.
Overall working at a video store is fun, but it hurts to watch people rent such shit over and over again.
Should AFX have started a new Fight Club thread to call Jeremy out on his lie?Quote:

And with that, this thread will return to the subject it should be on. Any more discussion about this will be split off or simply deleted from here.
On my lie? What the hell? I'm stating an something I saw happen in EB last weekend when I was trying to find some decent DC deals. Lhadatt, thanks for attempting to veer this topic back on track.
I recently got a shitty factory job. I don't really have any stories yet though, except my work really sucks.
I'm the tech manager for a cell phone store, I have enough stupid people stories to write a series of books.
The best was one lady who tody me she was going to "ruin my credit" and write nasty letters to the main office becuase I wouldn't sell her a phone at a price she wasnt eligible for...
She actually came back after 10 minutes to bitch at me again, I got so bad I just ignored her, so she was standing there yelling, and I started doing an inventory (not even my job, i just wanted to piss her off by not paying any more attention to her)
