I got mine today and have played for about 2 hours. Pretty good so far, besides the fact that I'm getting my ass kicked. The levels are bigger but I think the graphics look worse than the first game. They seem to be really really grainy on some maps. Theres much more foilage and brush to hide in which is really sweet. The level design for the new maps kicks some serious ass though. The mounted machine guns look damn cool and they may actually be useful. The sniper zooming is cooler now cause it has this cool focus effect, but the night vision is too realisitic now, where its really grainy. Voice chat in the lobby is nice and during the game it shows whos talking. Pretty much everyone I heard online loves the game and they all seem to be having a good time if it wasnt for the damn beta copies freezing up so often. You guys have any question just ask!!!
Oh yeah, its amazing I even got my Ps2 to play the blue cd considering it usually doesnt no matter what I do to it.
That nightvision sounds awesome; I used to run around with my nightvision always on even in the daylight, so hopefully this will put another realism factor in it. As for the graininess on the maps, might just be the beta,
Is the level design better than the original? SOCOM had the best level design.. ever. Is the terrain basically the same?
Actually now that I've played all the beta levels, theres only a few that look really grainy, otherwise the rest are fine. I just played another level that was all pretty much in the open with TONS and TONS of chest knee and chest high grass. AWESOME FUCKING LEVEL. Speaking of levels, they are better than Socom 1 so far. Remember, I can only play 7 levels (all new at least) in the beta. I think theres still 5 more new ones and all 12 of the old maps are in it and redone I guess.Quote:

One thing that I dont like is that the M16 gun with the grenade launcher is in this game. Its total bullshit. Its gay in Ghost Recon and its gay in this game.
man i think i may have to splurge for broadband. parents are getting rid of cable tv and going with direct tv but cable modem by itself is $50 a month......i really miss boradband :(
I think a nearly jizzed in my pants when I heard the diesel UPS truck pulling up with my game. :)
Oh yeah, the terrain is extremely varied. I've seen big ass grass level with a river, a village level, a snow map, a couple desert maps, and a cool Conflict Desert Storm looking level. PLENTY of variety.
How are the rockets? Man, I can't fucking wait. The fact that they included the old maps kicks so much ass. We gotta meet up this weekend, Moogle. We only played like once in SOCOM.
BTW, did it come in a dvd case?
I didnt use any rockets but I seen them being used. They looked pretty cool. As for dvd case, you dont get one. Its amazing the games dont come smashed cause theres like no packing. You'll see.Quote:

i remember the EQ betas were just in a paper sleeve in an envelope. no padding at all.
If it wasnt for the the damn game freezing every half/hour I probably wouldnt stop playing. The new music is also nice :)
