Raw 2 today
I had a blast with the original one, creating factions with my friends and the such. I know for a fact I am required to get it no matter how much the gameplay sucks (and suck it did) cause a few people I know would gut and decapitate me if I didn't, only because of the custom soundtrack option.
So who else is picking this up today?

Heh, I woulda started this thread last night, but I was too lazy.
Can you guess whether or not I'll be getting it?
-
Of course you will haha.
Some impressions on the gamefaqs boards (yeah I know not to be trusted) state that the season mode is pretty great, as is the CAW. The game play is less confusing as well, thats a good sign if you ask me.
I do have to say, if this game played like no mercy, with all the raw extra's, I'd be the happiest man alive.

I'll rent it, the create a titantron is reason enough to do so.

I will wait until I hear gameplay impressions before I pick this one up. I'll probably get Wrestlemania or Raw, but not both. There are just too many good games coming out to buy two of the same genre right now.

I should have been at work an hour ago, but I guess another two minutes won't make a difference.
Wrestlemania XIX is a lot better than Raw 2, unless you are dying to play six-man tags. In the gameplay department, there really is no contest. Raw is decent, but not very deep - and everything except the create-a-wrestler feels rushed and could have used a lot more polish. Even the moves seem rushed and many finishers are not satisfying at all. Sometimes you get 80% of the move - just enough to identify it, but not enough to truly enjoy it.
Season mode is pretty funny to watch (indeed, you do a lot of watching), but there is no dialogue from what I've seen, and I played it for about an hour. You pick a list of actions to take before each show and then there is a cut scene of your wrestler either succeeding at it or failing at it. If you get attacked, you can fight backstage for a minute, but the fights aren't all that great. Of course, it supports up to four players, so die-hard wrestling fans will have a lot of fun creating a stable and trying to run the WWE into the ground.
The modes are there, the Create-a-Superstar looks excellent - especially in the extras, but the graphics, sound, and gameplay are all pretty washed out. I can see why the development team got into trouble with management. This could have been the best wrestling game ever if the engine were deeper and the moves felt more authentic.
I will play this a lot more after work tonight, so ask questions here if you'd like and I will try to find the answers when I play. Just don't ask if there is blood or if you can take your opponent backstage, because the answer is "No" in both cases.

Sofar, although I've only played it for like, an hour, the gameplay is ASS.
Also, Chris Nowinski doesn't have the honor roll, and Undertakers last ride looks pretty shitty.
Some of the music is wrong, but that's nothing we can't fix through the custom soundtrack option.
Season mode is... interesting.
More impressions later, but I'm fairly confident in saying that if you want a game with excellent gameplay, get WM XIX over Raw. And if you want a game with... Ok, well, I can only really reccomend RAW to WWE diehards, but CAW looks kinda fun. (Which is moot if you don't actually want to play with your CAW).

I guess that leaves SD5 for me, since I don't have a cube, and you make Raw sound like poo poo.

Korly, what themes are wrong?
