XIII - official

Anyone else looking forward to this? Personally, other than Halo for PC, this is currently my most anticipated game right now. The demo is just awesome; the graphics, presentation, and sound (!) are all top notch, the game is just oozing with style. That's not even to mention the gameplay, which looks like it will definitely right on par with the excellent production values, with some already cool weapons (and some fun gadgets; rappeling down a big pipe with the grappling hook thingy is damn cool), great design and pacing, as well as stealth elements.

I'm looking forward to it and a bunch of friends who hadn't heard of it suddenly all started getting ready to buy it ASAP once I made them try the demo. Should be awesome, and it's got Adam West to boot! Go, you crazy mayor!

I am definately very excited about this game. The style and presentation is very unique, and what I have seen of it so far, looks very cool.

The demo was badass... I love teh closeups when you get a nide headshot in. The game proper should be tits, but I'm too broke to get it right now... maybe in a week or two when it's $10.

Of course I'm getting the PC version.

I had zero intrest in the game at all until I gave the demo a try. Good stuff.

I have the PS2 demo- it looks good, but it's not without a little shimmering. Sniping someone with the crossbow is joyous- you see the "Noooo!" cinema at the top of the screen showing the villain's last gasp.

I'm kind of leaning toward the PC or Xbox version.

Its due for release very soon, and I'm totally psyched for this game. I'm gonna import the PC version when its released in the states. The demo was awesome as, and they're showing trailers for it at hour local movie theatre. God damn, it looks so damn bad ass.

I decided against getting it since the multiplayer PC demo. Too slow and floaty for my tastes. It may look cool and have an awesome story, but sucks that it has to play like that.

I've been looking forward to XIII, and will probably still get it - despite the fact GMR gave it a 6/10:

He reviewed the Xbox version but mentions nothing about how well the game plays on Live, or any of the mp modes for that matter. That's mainly what I'm interested in, but I want decent gameplay in the story mode.

I'm still considering getting this game, but I'll want to read some user reviews - especially concerning Live.

Edit: Gamerankings.com has a 74.9% average ratio of all ratings in so far. Not bad. OXM gives a generous score: 9, there's a couple 4(out of 5)star ratings, and a couple that rate it 96% and 94%.

Rule number #4 of The Serious Gamer Handbook:

Completely ignore any and all print mag or online reviews that bash a game because "It's too hard" or "it's not fair!". What's hard for a skill-less mainstream reviewer might be fun and exciting for you. You could always rent first before you buy if you're still unsure.
