The Paranormal/haunting thread.

I figured since it was October, I'd get up a topic about hauntings and haunted houses. Hell even some close encounter UFO stuff if you like. So anyone had any weird experiences or know of any haunted areas nearby you?

I'll post a quick one to start off.

We have this one area way out in the country(like I'm not already out in the woods). This one road has something like 6 little bridges on it. From what I've been told is that you can get a car load of friends up, and drop a friend off at each bridge. Then once you get to the end of the road, turn around and drive back to pick up your friends. Only thing is...you'll pick up 5 friends instead of 6 and only cross 5 bridges. You have to make a second pass to pick up the last friend.

Sounds corny to me, but I've not got to test it out myself.

Any better ones?

I once, or a couple of times, had a pissed-off ghost try to suffocate me in my sleep.

Back in my old house, long before my family moved in, someone died in my room.

Did the Mothmen build that bridge or something?

Just wow.

That sounds kind of strange but I think you should try to explain it a bit better, is it because you can't pass or the road loops the bridges or something?

From what I've been told its just a straight road with the bridges. You drive down and drop a friend off at each bridge...then at the end of the road turn around and come back. Once you comeback thru there will be only 5 bridges.

There are a lot of old tiny country churches around here too. One of em is famous for people parking in front of the church at nite and shining the car lights in the window. Then the blinds pull up and a woman stares back at you.

A friend of my brother and I lived about 17 miles out of town. The house his family lived in, was on a secluded country road. Back when I was in 6th grade, my brother stayed at thier house and heard what sounded like a ball bouncing from room to room in the house. Apparently back when the house was first built, a child about 5 years old was bouncing a ball on the dirt road and was killed by a car.


One evening the ghost/kid was bouncing the ball throughout the house and when the ball bouncing sound arrived at the parents' room, our friend's mother yelled, "Would you please leave us alone!" The sound of the bouncing ball never came about again.

I've never had any "paranormal experiances" but my parents and relatives have.

Heres one that happned to my aunt ....


My great aunt asked my aunt to go check up on some stew that was cooking at her house because she was going to the store. My aunt agreed and left to check on my great aunts stew. She walked into the house and made her way into to the kitchen. As she starts stirring the stew she heres a voice say "is it done yet?". My aunt responded by saying no. But she realised rather quickly that no one was supposed to be inside the house. She looked up and saw a shadow run into my aunts pantry. Needless to say she ran from that house and never once has she gone to the house alone again.

A little side note to that. When my little sister was around one or two, we took her to vist my great aunt at the same house and whenever we would try and take her into the kitchen she would start to hyperventilate and cry hysterically. This happned about 3 to 4 times before my parents were like no more taking her to that house.

The house I'm in right now is haunted actually.

My roommate and I move in. About 4 months later he says to me "Do you see a cat every now and then?" and I'm like "Yeah!" Yup. We have a ghost cat. He's a tabby. Most of the time it's out of the corner of our eye stuff, but I've seen him very clearly at least once.

But it got better. We were driving home in the car and the topic of the ghost cat came up. He said to me "you know, I haven't seen the ghost cat in a while". I thought about it for a second and agreed but then added "I have seen ghost guy-in-a-trenchcoat tho'". As soon as I said that he turned white and said "on the back porch?" As soon as he said that I turned white. "yeah, on the back porch". It is one thing to see a ghost multiple times. You can kind of talk yourself into thinking you maybe didn't see it. But when someone else sees the same thing independantly, it freaks you out. This ghost looks like a 1920's era detective with the trenchcoat and hat.

But it gets better. My roommate had a date over and they were watching a movie. The way our house is set up, you can see the back porch beyond the TV. Partway through the movie she got up and walked out the front door. When he followed her she was all freaked out and said that there was a guy with a coat and hat on the back porch. Weird stuff.

Other things that have happened one time each:

Loud slam on front door knocks door open while I'm at home (and sitting right next to it). Nobody there.

Laying in bed reading on top of covers. A dime lands on my feet. My bed is not next to anything. It's right in the middle of the room. That one puzzled the heck out of me.
