Apparently, you can now run p1r8 games on your GameCube.

How does it work, you ask?

01. You download a ripped game... which, according to people who have commented on the site, do exist out there (they just havent been very popular, but people have figured out how to rip the data).

02. You run this loader and hook up the system to your computer via the broadband adapter - apparently this is the same "tunneling" system that so many people, like Lucas Barton or Shin Johnpv for example, have talked up that gives the GameCube some sort of "netplay".

03. The loader tricks your system into thinking that the game is in the system when it is actually on your PC in ripped form.

Im against piracy, but its still pretty interesting to see how the hax0rs have managed to crack a system which cant even run regular-sized discs. They'll always figure these damn systems out.

I thought the Q was hacked months ago, what happened with that?

The cube has been hacked, like a long time ago, When windwaker was released, there were images floating around for it.

Chux, yes, like I said, there have been images floating around but its not like you can burn the thing onto a CD and play it. If you go and read my original post, you will see that I said that "people have figured out how to rip the data".

But with the BBA, you can actually use that. Hmm...

and dog$... even if the Q was hacked, how many people have the thing?

Like if someone told me that you could only pirate games on the Sakura Wars Dreamcast, I would say big fucking deal nobody really has it...

You're right, my bad. I just still doesnt seem like it's worth the trouble yet.

Hmm... if you have the broadband adapter, which you probably dont, but you would maybe get in the future to play tunneled "netplay" with Mario Kart...

... you could just download the images, run the loader, and play the games...

it's basically the same amount of hassle as playing Dreamcast games... maybe less because you dont need to burn games. No need for mod chips or nothing.

Of course almost nobody has the BB adaptor now... but more people may start to get them. :)

well, i already have all the GC games i'm interested in, but this should make for some interesting homebrew stuff eventually.

I've images floaing around fixed for mini-DVD which I can only assume are designed to be burned and played directly on the cube itself. I wonder how that works.
