What you guys are missing is that it is not an "unlock". This data is not on the cart. The levels actually have to be read off of the cards. This means that new levels can be made long after the game is released.

I like the idea. As long as the new stuff comes from the cards and doesn't unlock something already on the cart, it's cool. I had a ball using my E-Reader with AC and between SMB 3 and now MS, it'll get some decent use.
Besides, who doesn't want to collect Metal Slug cards!
