Single G5's have been benchmarked at around the same speeds as a cheaper G4... do yourself the favor and get a dual if your going to bother...

Bah, I guess so. I was trying to think of price as an issue though...

But you can always save money in other areas. And by resource hogging (back in the last post), what I meant is there's no program out there that totally taxes 4GB or RAM (or in the dual's case 8GB). Well, I guess you could be painfully evil to a comp through Final Cut, but...

I hear ya.

The best thing about pc is the warez, p2p and hombrew stuff.

I wouldn't say that's entirely accurate. A single G5 equivalent to a "cheap G4?" I do remember seeing bench results stating that the single G5's were even a bit faster than dual G4's, but can't seem to find the link. :(

I would think the single G5 is faster due to the bus speed and the RAM if nothing else. I could see how a Dual G4 would give it a run for its money, though.
