No I KNOW my economy works for me and for the vast majority of people here, I also KNOW that youre in a minority in the US, ask people at IBM what they are treated like, face facts here youre in a minority in the US, one of the reasons youre of better then most it seems is becouse you hold a job thats historicaly has been very much needed worldwide and wich largely was build on socialist principles, most of wich still resonance trough to this day.

And Stone, regardles of what you and youre superflunky DifusionX here are saying, per capita and gdp wise we arent anywhere near as hurting as the US is, oure future monetary problems are comparatively minor and can and will be dealt with in the coming decades.

I've pretty much said all I have to say. I can't see how I should be embarassed when I argue in the name of compassion with common sense as my only tool. Unfortunately, at this point, I see the argument at hand boiling down to exactly this:

Look, it really comes down to one thing: you cant fight guns with flowers and candy. A dictator isn't gonna respond to you "being nice" (for clear cut proof of this, look at Hitler or countless generals and dictators in ages past). al-Qaeda is not gonna stomp terrorizing the world (including Arab soil) if you just pull out of the countries and be real nice and compassionate and give them loads of cash. Yasser Arafat won't stop supporting terrorists if you just kiss his ass and go to his barbecues. Clinton tried it for 8 years and look where it got us.

Are they going to listen if you take Dr. Spock's advice and never hit them, only giving them time-outs and other useless punishments? No! Of course not! You gotta spank 'em and take away their video games and movies and keep them from their friends for a few days!

But then, I'd imagine that the people against war and such agree with Spock. I'm anti-empire building and anti-manifest destiny style crap, but I'm still rational enough to know that this isn't some fairytale where everything is going to work out if we just give it room and don't take action.
