Actually Hero, if you would open youe eyes for just one second you could see that my post was right on topic.

I see nothing great or moving about the speech. It just sounds like more jibba jabba from some fool. I guess if you like this sort of thing it was a good speech. Not that I'm not for democracy worldwide and all that. I just think it was going towards a specific audience and then you have the people who don't care and the few people who will go nuts about it, like Almaci.

Because the citizens of the commonwealth want it that way. Remember as I say this I am 50% Puerto Rican by blood. Puerto Ricans simply cannot make up their mind if they wanna be a state. I dont think the US Government would mind if it was the next state, and I truly believe PR should become the 51st state, however. But, to the best of my knowledge (feel free to correct me if I am wrong), all the tallies in previous votes have been inconclusive.

Yeah and they also believe that being poisened by US military test facilities on the island etcetera is good for them and while we are at it they also believe Florida swampland is excellent investment for real estate purposes.
I know quite a few PR people and they all tell me that they are sick of the way the US treats them and they would want nothing more then become the 51th state becouse this way they just get used as a colony yet lack many of the benefits of actually being part of the US.
The power to get the army out of the island for instance.

Almaci, there have been a number of votes and every single vote has been inconclusive. All of my family on my mom's side (the Puerto Rican side) agrees with the fact that we (yes, WE, I am Puerto Rican) should be a state but the votes have not shown that this is what the majority of PR-ans want. I remember my grandmother and aunt was living with us at the time of one of the votes and they were shocked at the results.
