I thought it was going to be a GC, PS2 only release but I saw the X-Box version on sale at EB. Anyone do the comparisons between the version yet?
they added the Xbox version a couple months before it came out

Every site that I read that reviewed all 3 said the GC was the superior version, just barely eeking out the XBOX version. The PS2 version suffers from some slowdown. The GC does 480p and the XBOX does 720p from what I've read. Yet they say the GC version looks a little better.

Well I picked it up thanx to this thread, and the first thing I'll say is at first I was wondering what the fuck you guys were going on about but honestly it doesn't all come together fully until you get to control and complete the mummys first quest. Now I can't wait to see what comes up next. And I have to give a nod to the assignment interface. The next Zelda's should use it, it's all real time and no need to pause... way better. One thing that bugged me is the lack of auto save, I mean the moment you complete a mummy segment it should save since it's always on the same dedicated file so no worry overwriting an important save. I lost some progress moving on to the next bit with sphinx and dying only to realize I never got the chance to save the progress unless I had backtracked which I wasn't in the mood for since I figured a save would be nearby.

question for nigel if youve run into this or anyone else playing it
after the first time you see horus talking to set as the mummy, in sets big hall room after that your supposed to go through a door upstairs and theres a save statue right next to it
i you save your game there after the conversation and then come back to the game the door is locked and there seems to be no way to open it thus your stuck for ever and need to restart your game
this has happened to me twice now the first time i thought ok thats weird i must have fucked something up and started over again but now its happened again and im really pissed off cause i dont feel like playing through those first parts over for a 3rd time
any ideas how to get that door to open?
When I was doing some looking around for info on Sphinx I saw exactly what you described and it said that it was a glitch that only happened if you turned it off after that save and before the next one. I'm not sure if the way I described was exactly right but I'm sure it is exactly where you are talking about. I'll see if I can find that info again and post if for you. Luckily I didn't have that happen to me.Quote:
