The bad reviews got me more excited about the game. They all wanted a more modern style square game and were dissapointed that the series hasn't "grown up" since then, to put it as one reviewer did.

The graphics are amazing, but I noticed some minor glitches when the screen scrolls on some of the characters. It doesn't ruin the game or anything, it was just kind of odd.
Seems decent so far. The day/night thing is pretty fucked up though. Other then that I'm liking it.
It was bad in FFA, too. I'd rather destroy all the enemies myself, anyway. I'm expecting NPCs will provide moral support and maybe a special skill, nothing more.Quote:

They generally are teh ghey. The only game where it isn't gay is Animal Crossing (and Shenmue to a lesser extent). Surely it can't be any worse than Zelda OoT?Quote:
Night/Day cycle is gay

Ring menu is fine by me, but the problem with it is you constantly have to go in to it to change weapons which is a pain in the ass.
I have a brother so Co-op games rock ass.
I've played about 2 hours and so far I really could care less about any of the problem all the reviews mentioned. My only problem is I couldnt figure out where the fuck to go. How the hell was I suppose to know I could only go through the gate at night??!
A couple of people in Topple tell you.Quote:

I'm totally surprised Nintendo America didn't improve this a bit, they certainly had the time and it can't be *that* hard to do. Oh well.
The day/night stuff is a big part of the game, get used to stuff only happening (or appearing) at a certain time of day. Can be confusing.
The Amigo system is stupid and needs to DIE. You can only get the super cool spells via that, and since I didn't know anyone else with an import copy of the game, I couldn't see any of those damn spells. There should have been an alternate way to unlock those.
Overall, it was quite good (and is surprisingly LOADED with side-quests, secret items, etc), but not in the same league as the Super Famicom games. Way too linear, and not having a Mode7 map you could fly a dragon around was a huge letdown.
I just got to Topple! So far I think the game is great. Especially the sprite work. I do, however, have problems with the rediculous AI, but it's nothing beyond anything already mentioned.
I'm playing on the GBA Player, and I can notice some glitchy character sprites when the screen is moving around. I don't know if you can see it on the GBA screen, as it's so small, the skipps and jumps might not even be visable.
I've noticed it also, don't worry.Quote:
