Eh, it wasn't too bad, considering that most people have the summonings set to the truncated animations the whole game. It was neat to see the full animations for some of them one last time.Quote:

I sat there, whaling away at this guy for about 45 minutes before I realized it wasn't doing anything.
So I die, come back for more, and die again.
The game never mentions that you need to kill this part of him, so on my third try I just kill ALL his little heads (which is annoying) and then managed to kill him. Bastard.
the last boss from grandia 2 was total shit
Didn't have a problem with Grandia 2's last boss (or any boss in Grandia 2... though I played the DC version; maybe they made the PS2 one harder?). Nightmare's last form in DMC on Normal difficulty took me a good two hours though. Wasn't itching to try my hand at Hard mode after that so I retired that game for good (though I did like it mucho, my nerves were shot by the end).
Oh, Arc the Lad 2's last boss seriously took me like three hours. Just chipping away at him, running back and healing. I didn't know how else to approach it. I hated that fight.
The only way I could possibly think of is that they ported the game so horribly it required great effort just to keep it on.Quote:

I never did any levelling and never remembered needing to stock up on items, but I had no trouble with Grandia II. The only time I died was on this one enemy that had an instant kill spell. And I think there were only one or two of them in the game. Other than that, the game was a pushover... I liked it a lot, though.Quote:

Zemus/Zeromus showed up close to the end of FFIV, but nowhere near this close. It was the only thing about FFIX I really hated.
A boss I loved was Bison in the original SF2. Playing the game as a kid, the guy just felt powerful. It was intimidating. When I'd win the first round, I got such an adrenaline rush, and if I was lucky and/or focused enough to win, the relief and happiness I felt was insane.
I never can get into games like that anymore. It kinda sucks.
Yeah, I didn't do excessive leveling in that game though. I was pretty bored and rushed through the second half just to get it over with. I might've just gotten lucky on the last boss.Quote:
