Yep. Even in the 32-bit age, most games were like that. Games ported to PAL only really started becoming playable with the advent of the DC and its 60hz options.Quote:

I know Dog$ posted in another topic about a decent PS2 vga box (I think the one from Redant?)
I'm just totally sick of playing PS2 games through my TV tuner card (They look like complete, total ass), and am looking for an alternative.
Same here. I don't own a TV, but might want to play PS2 games with a good quality picture on a VGA monitor.
i bought one of these. impressions copied and pasted from another thread:Quote:

I didn't want to spend more than 35 bucks on it, but my dad signed on at the last minute and bid 41
I guess it's fine with me if my dad wants to spend extra money on my christmas gifts
I'll post impressions later this week, or right after christmas, depending on whether it's an official christmas present or not.
LOL too funny.Quote:

Hmmm...good question...well the only difference I could think of is that you can use component cables on an interlaced set or with a HDTV but not in HD mode, so you can play all games. If you use the VGA cord like I do on my HDTV, the games have to boot into progressive mode for it to work...but yeah for instance I run my Xbox through component in 480p and my Cube through 480p via the VGA in and I can't tell any picture quality difference in one over the other...they both blow away interlaced sets...I could be wrong though, but I think you are right, it's just because computers don't take component, but also some games look better even when *forced* into hi-res I think Chibi or someone posted how good Contra: SS looked in hi res...Quote:
