True, the nozzle is probably some run-of-the-mill injection moulded plastic. It's not like they pay pygmy Danish Inu's to hand craft them from the horn of a unicorn using a blunt pin made from Orichalcon. The most expensive piece in a inkjet cartridge would be the minimal electronics, and even they would be made for nix in a 3rd world country "free trade zone" .

This happens a lot in Thailand. I think some parts of Hong Kong (maybe not now, but in the past)

Hallmark. They charge $5 for a couple of cents worth of paper and ink that gets thrown away within a week.

A common street level scam is for a guy to bump into you, and pretend to drop his phone or glasses. They were broken/cracked to begin with, and he'll try to con you into paying for all or some of the repairs.
