I've had no feeling in my left hand for three years (up until recent, though it's going away again) due to a horseback riding accident. It can be VERY entertaining by way of freak factor. I can stuck my fingers in boiling water and not flinch, I can touch a hot pan, I can leave my bare hand in the snow without any chill... Of course, this is bad for the hand itself, but on quick bursts is can be great fun to confuse people :D

But really, go see a doctor as soon as you possibly can. You don't want to mess around with a lack of feeling. Better to go now and get something done while it might be possible, than wait until it could be too late. Safer to assume the worst.

Funny, because I've had a glass shard stuck in my palm for a few days without noticing it.

There's nothing physically wrong with my hand that would indicate the problem. Looks exactly like my right one. Really, for all the annoyances and inconveniences is causes, I don't mind too much. It really is fun freaking people out.

Though it sucks for playing video games. I still haven't gotten used to some, and it's hard to make intricate d-pad movements. And, well, beatmania's next to impossible at a certain level.

I think someone here had a problem like that a while back.......
Stupid memory problems.

I ran my thumb through a meat slicer about 15 years back, and sliced a chunk clean off. They patched it up with a chunk of skin off the side of my hand, but there'll never be any feeling in that section again. It's not that big a deal, really, it's only a strip about 3/4" long, but it's still kind of wierd.

I agree with the people voting Doctor, this isn't anything you want to blow off. Go, and then let us know how it turns out.
