Why GC is more "powerful" than XBox

Sony's hardware is much more powerful than it usually comes off as because of how damned difficult they made it to develop for. Talented first party developers and Capcom/Konami know the system's innards pretty damned well, but few others can touch its potential. Maybe it's part of Sony's evil plot to make their own software more impressive than anything else on the console...

I thought we were way past this bickering about which system was more powerful. I mean, that was soooooo like, fall 2001. :\

The only thing that matters in the end is which games look the best to you, graphically and gameplay-wise, and play them. I'd prefer we all discuss and argue about the games themselves, since that's something we all can talk about at least half-intelligently. Leave the system specs for the developers.

As for best looking games, hmmm:

PS2: Silent Hil 3, GT3 (and soon to be GT4), ZOE2
GC: F-Zero, Metroid Prime, Rouge Squadron 2 & 3
Xbox: PDO, PGR2, DOA3 & DOAXVB

I could probably come up with more, but that's off the top of my head.

Seeing as how Ico runs in low-resolution and Skygunner practically has slow-down as a listed feature, I doubt it.

Couple weeks ago I was playing some Viewtiful Joe and snapped my controller up and to the right as a reflex for getting the controller cord out of the way as I tend to get it stuck on my outstretched leg. I moved my leg at the same moment to help free the cord and simultaneously knocked over a cup of water.

It was then that I remembered I was using a Wavebird and there was no cord. Nice big moment of stupidity there.

Jesus Christ. Is Zone of the Enders 2 going to make every list you ever post? That game, like its predecessor, sucked balls. This is coming from a big Konami fan as well. Hideo Kojima's head found its way up his ass right after the first MGS, and he sure as hell didn't have the removal surgery in time to not fuck up ZOE2.

Actually, Sony just did some tech research on their system and are planning on releasing the findings to all PS2 devs in order to help them develop better games.

Sony supposes that under half of the games for the system don't "push it's limits."

I'd say look for more technically impressive games as time moves along.
