I don't know why Montreal is supposed to be "European" either, BTW. Never really seemed that way to me (yes, I've been to Europe).

They're actually referring to me, but it's a common mistake so don't feel bad.

Someone once summed Montreal up in a handful of words (that person being me):

"Montreal -- What have you done for me lately?"

Um, it's just that Montréal is more similar to other cities in Europe than other cities in North America. There's no plot. It's just the way it is. :p

What's nice is that it's a mix. The best of both worlds in many ways.

San Francisco is quite famous internationally. One of the most famous American cities and top tourist destinations in the US.

Who said our cities were super awesome? This whole thread I've said Toronto is a shithole and montreal sucks too. I hardly think the other users saying that its a "European like" city are bashing american cities.
