Games that need to be localized for US/Eur
Everytime a thread for a new PS2 import pops up on TNL, there are cries for Atlus, Agetec, WD, or someone else to localize it. So, I thought now would be a good time to review what hasn't been released or announced for localization outside of Japan on any of the current consoles. Name the games you think have been unduly ignored for localization by US/Eur publishers, and provide links to official websites/movies so people who haven't heard of those games can see them in action. Later this week, I'll try to update this thread (or start another) with a poll for what appears to be your top 7.
Some games I'd like to see localized in English:
Sakura Taisen 1: Atsuki "Hot Blood"
(movies at bottom of page)
Remake of the Sega Saturn classic. Hit on... er... I mean, compliment the girls at headquarters so they'll fight harder for you in the battles with enemy robots & demons. I'm assuming some version of Sakura Taisen 5 will hit the US because it takes place in the old American West and was announced as part of the "Sakura Taisen World Project" 2 years ago.
Venus & Braves
movie
Sporting a unique rotation battle system, Namco's RPG also has classy music & artistic 2D sprites.
Phantom Brave
movie
It seems like a no-brainer that this would be localized due to the surprising success of Disgaea and announcement of La Pucelle, but nobody has made it official yet.
Shin Megami Tensai 3 Maniacs
movies
I haven't bought this, but someone is bound to mention it. There's a HUGE translation guide at gamefaqs.
Atelier Iris ~ Eternal Mana
No Atelier has made it to the US yet. This one will be released in Japan in May. I couldn't find a movie on the website.
Growlanser 4
Just released in Japan in late Dec.
Summon Night 3
(click on movies tab)
Strategy-RPG released in 2003.
Tales of Destiny 2
Tales of Symphonia will be released on GCN this summer, but ToD2 for PS2 hasn't been announced yet.
