A part of me is glad that another toyline or cartoon series wasn't adapted into a sweeping drama, teetering on a 3 hour runtime. Serious movies (and seriously long movies) are best reserved for a serious subject matter. GI JOE's story was bad, but I appreciate that it was intended to be a fun and disposable production.. although this approach was better executed in Iron Man.

About what I figured. I think the movie will gross, after ticket and DVD sales, about 350 million. It cost 175; I think they will match it. Plus DVD sales and worldwide ticket sales.

Okay, I'm in the theater now. Previews are running...I'm bracing myself.

Scarlett is pretty damn hot.

Action is OK so far.

I don't think this will do well overseas, GI Joe doesn't mean anything outside of the US. Titled "Action Man" or not. 56 mill is a lot more than I thought it would make opening weekend.

District 9 better do well.
